There will be no Alex “The Crunchman” Cabagnot for the San Miguel Beermen next PBA conference.
After trading star forward Arwind Santos several days ago, SMB decided to continue its roster overhaul as they also shipped one of their superstars Alex Cabagnot to the Terrafirma Dyip.
In exchange, the Beermen will be receiving the young and energetic Simon Enciso which was already approved by the PBA’s Commissioner’s Office through Willie Marcial.
Cabagnot was one of the most instrumental pieces during SMB’s glory days, hitting tough shot after tough shot in the clutch moments for the team.
The leftie guard brought nine championships for the franchise and was also a part of the infamous SMB “Death Lineup” together with Santos, June Mar Fajardo, Chris Ross, and Marcio Lassiter.
Meanwhile, Enciso will be seeking to redefine his career with the Beermen after a disappointing season with Terrafirma.
Despite the losing season, Enciso was still able to put up decent numbers as he ended last season with 13.7 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game.
Together with Vic Manuel, Enciso will be out to prove that he is worth the trade who is also still looking for his first PBA championship in his career.
