Jordan Heading’s Taiwan T1 basketball league stint just faced a major roadblock after the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) revealed that the leftie shooter still has an existing contract with them.
The SBP bared in a press release that Heading is still under a live legal contract until March 2023.
A few days ago, the Taichung Suns in Taiwan proudly announced through their social media pages that Heading just signed a contract with them.
Several hours after the news broke, the SBP was quick to release their formal letter announcing Heading’s current contract status.
“We have formally written FIBA and the Chinese Taipei Basketball Association in connection with the reported playing in Taiwan for the Taichung Suns of Mr. Jordan Timothy Heading and have informed them that Mr. Heading has a live legal contract with SBP until March 2023,” wrote the SBP in their official statement.
Heading and his camp are yet to reply to SBP’s formal statement regarding his contract status. Heading was present during several FIBA games representing Gilas including the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia.
In his Gilas stint, Heading posted stellar numbers of 14.5 points, 3 assists, 1.5 rebounds, and 1 steal per contest despite donning the blue and white for the first time.
