The Rotaract Club of Metro Iloilo, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, distributed Noche Buena items to 80 farmers in Miag-ao, Iloilo as part of its annual Bag of Hope project this Christmas season.
Now in its 12th year, the initiative is one of the clubs’ flagship humanitarian programs aimed at supporting and recognizing farming families whose work sustains local communities.
Project head Elyrose Naorbe said the activity goes beyond handing out food packs — it is a gesture of solidarity and gratitude for farmers who continue to work despite ongoing challenges.
“The Bag of Hope is our way of saying thank you to our farmers. The intention behind them is to let the beneficiaries know that they are remembered, valued, and supported, especially during the holiday season,” Naorbe said.
He added that the project reflects the clubs’ long-standing commitment to service and community engagement, especially for sectors that often go unnoticed.
Rotaract Club of Metro Iloilo President John Noel Herrera said the initiative’s success was made possible through collaboration and shared compassion among members, partners, and sponsors.
“This project shows how collective effort can make a meaningful difference. When organizations and individuals come together with a common purpose, even small acts of kindness can bring comfort and hope to many,” Herrera said.
He emphasized that Bag of Hope remains a core expression of the club’s advocacy for service, leadership, and social responsibility.
The club expressed its gratitude to all sponsors who helped make the project possible.
