The Philadelphia 76ers just reloaded its backcourt rotation after acquiring the services of veteran floor general Reggie Jackson confirmed on July 24, 2024.
After initially getting traded to the Charlotte Hornets from the Denver Nuggets, multiple reports already confirmed that Jackson reached a buyout with the franchise and is set to sign a deal with Philadelphia.
It was ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski who broke the news, adding that the 13-year veteran is ready to finalize a contract with the 76ers after clearing his waivers with Charlotte.
With the addition of Jackson in the revamped Philadelphia roster, its guard rotation just received further depth, teaming up with two-way star Kyle Lowry and emerging gunner Tyrese Maxey.
Aside from returning to the Eastern Conference, Jackson will also be reuniting with his old pal, Paul George, who recently signed an enormous contract following his departure from the Los Angeles Clippers.
Both Jackson and George steered the Clippers to consistent playoff appearances several years ago but the savvy point guard got traded to the Nuggets after the 2022 season.
Upon his arrival, Jackson provided the much-needed scoring spark for the Nuggets and helped the organization clinch the 2023 NBA championship title.
Jackson was phenomenal for Denver and averaged 10.2 points and 3.8 assists during their championship campaign.
However, in a stacked Philadelphia rotation, it is still unsure whether head coach Nick Nurse will play him as a substitute for Lowry or deploy him as a shooting guard.
Other huge signings that the 76ers had during this off-season are former Miami Heat swingman Caleb Martin and seasoned shooting guard Eric Gordon.
