PDIC wins BAIPHIL award for banking industry support
MAKATI CITY — The Bankers Institute of the Philippines recognized the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. for its sustained support of the banking industry during an awards ceremony on July 16.
The Institutional Award, presented at the BAIPHIL Royal Gala: Grand Fellowship and Awards Night at Makati Shangri-La, recognized PDIC as one of the organization’s most active institutional members.
PDIC Vice President Jackson L. Ubias received the award on behalf of the corporation.
PDIC has supported BAIPHIL events and initiatives that promote professional development, strengthen cooperation among banking institutions and advance industry standards.
BAIPHIL also presented its Special Presidential Achievement Award to PDIC Corporate Affairs Group Vice President Jose G. Villaret Jr.
The award recognized Villaret’s contributions as chairperson of the BAIPHIL Week Committee and the BAIPHIL Program and Attendance Committee.
Villaret also helped plan and implement various BAIPHIL activities.
BAIPHIL President Shirley G. Felix thanked members and institutional partners for supporting the organization’s mission during the culminating event.
Felix is also PDIC vice president and officer in charge of its Receivership and Liquidation Sector.
BAIPHIL seeks to equip banking professionals with future-ready competencies supporting innovation, sound governance and organizational resilience.
PDIC and BAIPHIL share a commitment to strengthening the banking sector and improving services for depositors.
Established in 1963, PDIC is a government instrumentality that protects depositors and supports financial stability through the country’s mandatory deposit insurance system.
The corporation, an agency attached to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, provides deposit insurance of up to PHP 1 million per depositor per bank.
