Finally, commissioner Kenneth Duremdes and the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League’s (MPBL) request for resumption has already been approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
Following the decision, the MPBL management was quick to release the halted semifinals schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic which will be staged on March 10, 2021 at the Subic Bay Gymnasium.
The fiery series between the Davao Occidental Tigers and the Basilan Steel will be at 4:30 p.m while the battle for northern supremacy between the Makati Super Crunch and San Juan Knights will be at 8 p.m.
Despite being an amateur league, the IATF allowed the MPBL to continue their halted season with the assurance that they will comply with all the strict protocols.
Before proceeding to the semifinal games proper on March 10, the MPBL management should have the go signal from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Subic regarding their proposed tournament bubble.
If the Subic LGU will have the official statement of MPBL’s bubble allowance, then the March 10 scheduled date for the semifinals will push through as planned.
