PLDT ends Creamline’s unbeaten PVL run in four sets
By Leobert Julian A. de la Peña

The PLDT High Speed Hitters snapped the Creamline Cool Smashers’ four-game winning streak, 25-19, 25-27, 25-23, 25-23, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series on Nov. 5, 2026, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
After a slow 0-2 start in the conference, the High Speed Hitters have regained their form and now have three consecutive wins to climb above the .500 mark, improving to 3-2.
PLDT picked up where it left off after a dominant sweep of the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles, spoiling Creamline’s bid for a fifth straight victory and handing the Cool Smashers their first defeat of the conference.
The High Speed Hitters quickly imposed their will on the Cool Smashers early in the opening set, receiving much-needed offensive support from Savannah Davison and Kim Kianna Dy to help PLDT establish a seven-point lead.
Needing a point to draw first blood, veteran setter Kim Fajardo delivered a tricky serve that Creamline failed to receive properly, resulting in a reception error and a 1-0 set advantage for PLDT.
However, Creamline immediately responded with urgency in the second set, showing poise under pressure to overcome PLDT’s late advantage and force an extended finish.
Bernadeth Pons sparked Creamline’s comeback with timely crosscourt attacks, while Bea de Leon’s two-way performance in the closing stretch helped the Cool Smashers reach set point.
The Cool Smashers eventually prevailed, 27-25, to level the intense showdown at one set apiece.
Creamline appeared to carry its momentum into the third set, but the insertion of Alleiah Malaluan gave PLDT the much-needed offensive boost midway through the frame.
Malaluan scored four crucial points that put the High Speed Hitters ahead by two, 22-20, before Davison sealed the set with a powerful back-row spike for a 2-1 lead.
PLDT appeared poised to secure its third straight victory in the fourth set, but Creamline mounted another late comeback to keep the contest close.
Davison’s crosscourt attacks and Dell Palomata’s timely hits helped PLDT establish a 23-19 lead, but the Cool Smashers fought back behind Pons, Pangs Panaga and Tots Carlos.
The decisive point came when Pons’ attack deflected off Mika Reyes and landed inside Creamline’s court after setter Jia de Guzman misjudged the ball’s trajectory, sealing PLDT’s four-set victory.
Creamline challenged for a possible net touch, but the video review found no violation, confirming the High Speed Hitters’ victory.
Taking charge for PLDT was Davison, who delivered a team-high 22 points alongside 19 excellent receptions and eight excellent digs.
Palomata also stepped up when the High Speed Hitters needed her most, contributing 13 points, while Malaluan and Dy scored 10 and eight points, respectively.
On the other hand, Creamline received 14 points and 10 excellent digs from Pons, but Jema Galanza, one of the team’s main scorers, was limited to nine points.
PLDT will gun for its fourth straight win on Nov. 10 against the Farm Fresh Foxies, while the Cool Smashers seek to regroup on Nov. 12 against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
