ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 17-year-old boy wanted for illegal gun possession was arrested Saturday morning in Barangay Bailan, Pontevedra Capiz.
Toto (not his real name) did not resist when the Pontevedra police served a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Omnibus Election Code or Election Gun Ban.
The warrant was issued by Roxas City Regional Trial Court Branch 14 Judge Faustino Valenzuela Roxas Jr. on June 14, 2022.
The court recommended P200,000 bail for each charge.
Toto is in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old wanted person with a warrant of arrest for frustrated homicide was arrested Saturday morning at Brgy. Poblacion, Tapaz, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as Jarold Fama Salar of Brgy. Poblacion, Dumalag, Capiz.
Police Staff Sgt. Ryan Villas said the operation was jointly conducted by the Mambusao and Tapaz police based on a warrant of arrest issued by former RTC Branch 21Judge Daniel Antonio Gerardo S. Amular of Mambusao, Capiz on July 16, 2012.
The court recommended a P24,000 bail.
