Justin Brownlee is ready.
With all the necessary travel documents and passes already cleared by the former PBA champion, Brownlee is now set to arrive in the Philippines on November 25 to reinforce the Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel for the upcoming PBA Governor’s Cup.
“Right now he’s scheduled to come in on the 25th, but I think he’s going to leave earlier. Maybe this weekend, so we could have him either Monday or Tuesday,” said head coach Tim Cone during the Power & Play Sports program.
Ginebra had a disappointing PBA All-Filipino run after tasting elimination at the hands of the TNT Tropang Giga as early as the conference quarterfinals.
A week after facing defeat, the Ginebra management was quick to confirm that they will be bringing back former super import Brownlee who led them to three PBA championships since playing for their franchise last 2016.
Brownlee’s last stint in the PBA was during the 2019 PBA Governor’s Cup championship campaign when they took down their rival Meralco Bolts who had Allen Durham as their import.
With Brownlee back in the squad again, coach Cone and the rest of the coaching staff are looking forward to a better record this conference.
During the All-Filipino Cup, Ginebra clinched their lowest seed in the playoffs in three years when they held the Phoenix Super LPG for the last spot in the quarterfinals.
