The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Iloilo Chapter Sportsfest 2024 is set to unite radio broadcasters from various outlets in a spirited and competitive event, highlighting camaraderie and unity within the industry.
Organized by chapter chairman Mr. Ronel Sorbito, who also serves as the station manager of DYRI RMN Iloilo, the sportsfest aims to strengthen professional relationships through athletic competition.
Scheduled to commence on July 20, 2024, at the Iloilo Sports Complex Gym, the event will feature basketball, volleyball, and bowling games, taking place every Saturday morning.
The arrangement provides an excellent opportunity for participants to display their athletic prowess in a supportive and engaging environment.
“The goal is to bring broadcasters together, not just to compete but to bond and form stronger connections,” said Mr. Sorbito. “By fostering camaraderie and teamwork, we can create a more cohesive and supportive industry.”
Four teams will compete in each sport, categorized by colors to instill a sense of friendly rivalry and encourage interaction among broadcasters from different outlets. This setup is designed to enhance unity and teamwork, as participants engage with colleagues they might not typically interact with.
“The sportsfest is a great platform for us to connect on a personal level,” remarked one participant. “It’s not just about the games, but about building lasting relationships.”
Beyond the physical competition, the event seeks to celebrate the talents and skills of radio broadcasters in Iloilo. It provides a space for participants to enjoy friendly banter, showcase their athletic abilities, and create memorable experiences.
Mr. Sorbito emphasized the broader significance of the sportsfest, stating, “Promoting camaraderie and unity is vital for the growth and success of our industry. I hope this event will inspire collaboration and teamwork among all broadcasters in Iloilo.”
