The Levanga Hokkaido secured the services of Filipino stalwart Dwight Ramos for the next Japan B. League season after signing him to a contract extension on May 21, 2024.
After an efficient season with Hokkaido, Ramos received another year to showcase his skills in the biggest professional basketball league in Japan.
In his 43 games played last B. League season, Ramos averaged double digits in scoring and tallied 10.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest.
Despite an injury-plagued season for Ramos, the Gilas Pilipinas men’s national basketball team staple member was still able to reach a career-best in terms of points.
Ramos failed to suit up in all of the B. League games after suffering an orbital fracture that required a season-ending injury.
The savvy swingman pulled off a career-best season but during the games he missed, Hokkaido began to fall in the team standings and missed the playoffs.
Hokkaido’s contract extension given to Ramos will mark his fourth year in Japan since debuting with the Toyama Grouses in the 2021-2022 B. League season.
Currently, Ramos confirmed that his injury has already healed up and he will be playing again for the national team when the Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) kicks off this June.
Ramos will be playing alongside his former teammates during the past FIBA window which includes Justin Brownlee, Carl Tamayo, Kai Sotto, and June Mar Fajardo.
