Government worker caught with P115,600 in ‘shabu’

BACOLOD CITY – A 37-year-old job order casual employee was arrested in Silay City, Negros Occidental, after being found with 17 grams of suspected shabu valued at P115,600 in Barangay E. Lopez yesterday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca, city police chief, reported that the suspect had been under surveillance for three months following tips about his alleged illegal activities.

“He was the third casual government worker arrested for a drug offense in the city this year,” Darroca noted.

The suspect, who worked as a watchman at a local elementary school, was identified as a high-value individual due to his government employment status.

During the operation, authorities recovered nine sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised tooter, and P2,600 in marked money from him.
