Another Filipina just impressed on the international weightlifting stage during the 2021 World Classic Powerlifting Championship in Sweden.
Joyce Reboton, one of the country’s most talented weightlifters, grabbed two medals in Sweden after winning silver in bench press and bronze in the total.
The Filipina weightlifter scored a final tally of 105 kilograms total weight lifted that helped her secure the silver-medal finish.
Meanwhile, in the total weight category, Reboton had 187.5 kilograms in the squat, 205 kilograms in the deadlift, and 497.5 kilograms total for the bronze medal.
Reboton was also a former bronze medalist last 2009 World Open Powerlifting Championships confirmed by the Powerlifting Association of the Philippines.
Previously, the PH national weightlifting team hauled four gold medals, one silver, and another four bronze medals in the age group division.
It was Veronica Ompod who won all the gold medals for PH, Agustin Lorenzo for the lone silver medal, and Jane Erasmo for the four bronze medals.
