The event gathered Grade 10 students from Ramon Avanceña National High School, Iloilo City High School, Iloilo City National High School, Jalandoni Memorial National High School, Jaro National High School, Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus, and PHINMA University of Iloilo.
Each student was accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, highlighting the shared responsibility of families in promoting informed consumerism.
Anchored on this year’s theme, “Bida ang Konsyumer sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the quiz bee tested knowledge on consumer rights, responsibilities, fair trade practices, and key consumer protection laws.
The activity supported DTI’s advocacy of developing responsible, vigilant, and empowered consumers within the academic community.
OIC Provincial Director Ma. Dorita D. Chavez opened the program by commending participating schools for their active role in consumer education.
She emphasized the vital role of the youth in shaping a well-informed generation of Filipino consumers.
The event was conducted in partnership with the academe, private sector representatives, and DTI Iloilo, whose collaboration ensured the activity’s success.
