One of the most prolific scoring imports the PBA has ever witnessed will make a highly anticipated comeback when the Governors’ Cup conference kicks off.
On June 27, 2026, the Converge FiberXers announced that they had secured the services of Jalen Hudson, the TNT Tropang 5G’s ex-import during the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Hudson only played six games for TNT before being replaced by former NBA talent Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, but he led the MVP-backed franchise to an impressive 5-1 win-loss record.
During that brief stint with the Tropang 5G, Hudson averaged 33.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game and was tagged as one of the most efficient scoring imports to ever set foot in the PBA.
Ironically, his PBA career high was against Converge on Feb. 8, 2023, going berserk for 56 points on 21-of-31 shooting from the field while leading TNT to a nail-biting 128-122 win.
Three years later, little did the Florida Gators product and NBA G League veteran know that he would join the team that he once tormented in the PBA.
After his two-month campaign with TNT, Hudson returned to import duties overseas, rendering his services to Pallacanestro Trieste in Italy in 2023 before jumping to Turkey and playing for Yukatel Merkezefendi.
His latest import stint was in China, where he played for the Hefei Storm, which also participated in the CBA Club Cup.
The FiberXers are looking to redeem themselves after a disappointing PBA Commissioner’s Cup run, where they finished in ninth place overall with a 5-7 win-loss record.
The dismal outing prevented them from qualifying for the playoffs, despite high expectations following a star-studded offseason player recruitment.
Converge’s massive player overhaul started with Calvin Abueva, acquiring him from the Titan Ultra Giant Risers in a blockbuster deal.
Aside from Abueva, the FiberXers also inked Mikey Williams to a deal, the former TNT elite guard who helped them win two PBA championships.
Despite the addition of those stars, Converge failed to gain any rhythm in the Commissioner’s Cup and is aiming to bounce back under Hudson’s leadership in the upcoming Governors’ Cup.
