Choco Mucho dazzles in Iloilo, sweeps Chery Tiggo for 10th-straight PVL win

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans treated its Ilonggo fans with another dominant win after blanking the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-16, 25-19, 25-23, last December 2, 2023, held at the University of San Agustin Gym in Iloilo City.

With the victory, the Flying Titans closed its Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference elimination campaign with a 10-game winning streak and will have the chance to clinch top honors if the Creamline Cool Smashers lose their final match against the Galeries Tower.

The Cool Smashers are currently the no. 1 team in the standings with a perfect 10-0 record and a loss to Galeries will help Choco Mucho overtake their top seed when the playoffs begin.

Inspired to play in front of a jam-packed Ilonggo crowd, the Flying Titans immediately cruised in the first set sparked by the offensive barrage of superstar Sisi Rondina.

Rondina quickly got her groove and pummeled the Chery Tiggo middle blockers with her cross-court attacks, helping Choco Mucho build a comfortable lead while also clinching the momentum.

Despite Chery Tiggo’s adjustments in their attacks, the Flying Titans still found a way to find the loopholes and sustained its firepower until the third set.

The Crossovers made the match interesting when they inched closer in the third and final set but Rondina and the Flying Titans hosted a clutch hitting party that officially fended off Chery Tiggo.

Rondina ended Choco Mucho’s 10^th straight victory with 16 big points built from 14 successful attacks backstopped by Maddie Madayag who chipped in 11 markers.

Meanwhile, the duo of Isa Molde and Cherry Nunag combined for 16 points while outside hitter Kat Tolentino added seven points.

“Sobrang thankful sa naging performance kasi alam ko na kami talaga yung nag dictate ng tempo. Kahit anong mangyari kailangan manalo ditto kasi ito yung mas magpapataas pa ng kumpyansa natin,” said Choco Mucho head coach Dante Alinsunurin.
