Capiz logs 218 dengue cases

ROXAS CITY, Capiz– The province of Capiz on June 21 recorded 218 dengue cases.
Mark Loiue Atanque, dengue program manager of Provincial Health Office (PHO), said Roxas City has the most number of dengue cases with 84.
It was followed by the town of Jamindan with 49; Cuartero – 9; Dao – 13; Dumalag – 2; Dumarao – 3; Ivisan – 5; Maayon – 7; Mambusao – 4; Panay – 6; Panitan – 1; Pilar – 4; Pontevedra – 11; President Roxas – 4; Sapian – 9; Sigma – 3; and Tapaz – 4.
According to Atanque, dengue cases in Jamindan surged by 1,125%, compared to 4 cases logged last year in the same morbidity week.
But he said he is confident that each Local Government Units (LGUs) is prepared in case of an outbreak.
The PHO encouraged everyone to clean their surroundings and eliminate breeding grounds for dengue-carrying mosquitoes. It also asked the public to seek early consultation if they have dengue symptoms.
