Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. (right photo) and officials of Citi Philippines and the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI) led the ceremony for the 2nd Digital Financial Inclusion Awards (DFIA) at the BSP Head Office in Manila on 24 October 2023.
DFIA awarded 20 microentrepreneurs and five microfinance institutions (MFIs) for adopting digital solutions to perform a wide variety of financial transactions, including payments, savings, and disbursements.
The awards program is in line with the thrust of the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion 2022-2028 to support digitalization of microentrepreneurs and the MFIs that serve them.
Also present were (fourth from left) MCPI Chair Gilbert Maramba; Center for Agriculture and Rural Development Mutually Reinforcing Institutions Founder Jaime Alip; BSP Deputy Governors Mamerto E. Tangonan and Bernadette Romulo-Puyat; Citi Philippines CEO Paul Favila; Go Negosyo Executive Director Mina Akram; and other officials of Citi Philippines.
