Zero new COVID cases in Capiz on Christmas day

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The province of Capiz did not log new COVID-19 cases during the Christmas break.
Data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) indicated that its active cases remain at 20 cases.
The province has recorded 9,533 confirmed cases since March 2020 to date, while 9,059 have recovered and 454 perished.
The PHO said it hopes that the cases will continue to decrease as more persons get vaccinated.
Meanwhile, majority of the infected persons either have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic.
Reports indicated that 50 percent are mild cases, 25 percent asymptomatic while the remaining are moderate to severe.
Ten persons are under home quarantine, seven are confined to hospitals and three are at the temporary treatment and monitoring facility of their local government units (LGU).
On the other hand, Roxas City has already reached herd immunity against COVID-19.
According to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, 71.25 percent, or 88,826 of the target population were already fully vaccinated.
