A Filipino 3×3 squad made history as the first-ever PH team to participate in the Champions League Basketball 3×3 in Australia.
After a promising stint during the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup held in Calamba, Laguna, the Zamboanga Valientes decided to skip the holidays and pursue their goal of being one of the top teams in PH hoops 3×3.
Matt Hollard, the CEO of the Champions League Basketball 3×3 in Australia, confirmed the participation and the inclusion of the squad as “the first Filipino team to play in the official CLB 3×3 league.”
The Valientes are composed of veteran and Zamboanga home-grown Chris “Peng” Concepcion together with Eric Miraflores, Alex Compton, and Sudanese-Australian Duom Dawan.
Zamboanga team owners Michael Venezuela and Rolando Navarro Jr. went all out on their team and see a bright future ahead of them in 2021.
The dynamic duo of Concepcion and Dawan will try to put the Philippines at the top of Australia’s biggest 3×3 league at the tipoff.
