With head coach Charles Tiu’s announcement of Kai Sotto’s presence for the Mighty Sports PH roster in the 2020 Dubai International Basketball Tournament, numerous young UAAP stars were then assembled to create a batch of young and promising future PH stars to banner the team.
The high-flying super rookie of De La Salle, Jamie Malonzo, Fighting Maroons’ emerging forward, Javi Gomez de Liano, and National University’s superstar, Dave Ildefonso, will be expected to deliver big-time despite being the youngsters in the team.
Coach Tiu expressed his decision in picking those three, adding Malonzo can play the three up to the five positions because of his quickness, size, and height. Javi GDL can be a solid off the bench instant offensive player, and Ildefonso’s versatility as a two-way player can change the tempo of the game.
The addition of such talent to Mighty Sports’ roster would be a big lift and a big advantage for the team.
The Mighty Sports squad will go up against the veteran teams from China, Japan, Iran, and other ball clubs from Southeast Asia.
