The future of Iloilo football was on full display as the first NIG Hisense Football Cup 2026 wrapped up a spirited three-day tournament from May 15 to 17, bringing together young footballers from various schools and clubs in Iloilo City and neighboring municipalities. Held as the culminating activity of the Westbridge Football Club Summer Clinic, the event celebrated not only skill and competition, but also sportsmanship, friendship, and community spirit.
The tournament featured exciting action across the U8, U10, U12, U14, and U15 divisions, with several matches keeping spectators on edge until the final whistle. From strong team performances to dramatic penalty shootouts, the young athletes showed grit, composure, and love for the game. Among the highlights were the tense U14 championship match between JDFCI and SB Ilawod, which was decided through a thrilling one-on-one penalty shootout, as well as close battles in the U10 and U15 divisions.

The event was made possible through the support of NIG Marketing, the tournament’s main sponsor, together with Hisense, one of NIG Marketing’s major appliance partners. In keeping with NIG Marketing’s tagline, “Bringing Happiness Into Your Home”, the event brought that same spirit of happiness into the football field, giving young players and families a memorable weekend of sports, prizes, and celebration.
Adding to the excitement, many participants and supporters brought home raffle prizes from the sponsors. Major raffle items included an American Home washing machine and a 43-inch Hisense Google TV, along with other prizes that helped make the tournament even more festive for the football community.
The NIG Hisense Football Cup 2026 was also supported by Mondays Printing Services, Starboard Coffee, Lucille’s Premium Catering, Angelina Bakeshop, Beauty Essentials, Total Perfect Fitness, the Aguadera Family, JOLLY, and The Medical City, which served as the medical team partner for the safety of the participants. More than a competition, the tournament became a celebration of Iloilo’s growing football community—one where young athletes, coaches, parents, and sponsors came together for the love of the game.
