The West Visayas State University Taekwondo jins for both men and women bagged the championship title in the 2020 Regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) held in Talisay, Negros Occidental.
The victory gave WVSU their sixth straight taekwondo championship in the Regional SCUAA and showed their consistent dominance throughout the years.
For the women’s category, the WVSU jins collected a total of 11 medals, 5 golds, 4 silvers, and 2 bronze medals followed by ISAT-U who garnered 4 golds, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals.
The third placers were the jins from CPSU with 2 golds, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals followed by ASU with 2 golds and 1 silver medal notched.
Meanwhile, in the taekwondo men, the WVSU jins clinched a total of 8 medals, 5 golds and 3 bronze medals, followed by the jins from UA who only tailed WVSU by a small margin with 7 collected medals, 4 golds, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze medal.
The WVSU jins will try to continue their consistent run in the National SCUAA and will clash with the heavyweights from Mindanao and NCR.
