Basketball teams from Western Visayas took home two championship titles in the Wilson 3X3 Basketball Challenge National Finals in Makati City, May 14.
St. John’s Institute (SJI) pulled off a stunner in the competition as they captured the championship title in the 10-Under in Makati City, May 14.
The team survived the Bacolod City squad in a scintillating finals game, 14-13.
Antique crushed Metro Iloilo in the 13-Under division, 9-4.
Cavite won the 19-Under, while Metro East topped the 16-Under category.
Meanwhile, a total of 12 teams will compete in the JGM Finance Corporation 17-Under Girls’ Invitational Volleyball Tournament, which kicked off yesterday at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) gym in Bacolod City.
League organizer Jose Montalbo said the tournament gathered strong teams across the country. In Pool A, competing squads are host Bacolod Tay Tung High School-A, Bayawan, California Academy, Silay, Siliman University, and Talisay.
Pool B is composed of Bacolod Tay Tung High School-B, Bingawan, Don Bosco, La Carlota, Tanjay, and the University of St. La Salle.
