Wanted 80-Year-Old Man Nabbed in Iloilo

An 80-year-old man wanted for frustrated murder was arrested on the morning of May 14 in Calinog, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified only as alias Rodolfo, is a farmer from Sitio Kumbong, Barangay Masaroy, Calinog.
He was arrested by Calinog Municipal Police while in Poblacion Ilaya.
The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant issued for Criminal Case No. 25-2531.
Judge Redentor Eugenio Esperanza of Regional Trial Court Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo issued the warrant on May 6, 2025.
Bail was set at PHP200,000 for his temporary release.
Maj. Myles Dieron, Calinog police chief, said the suspect had not posted bail as of press time.
The suspect was previously arrested on Dec. 30, 2020, during simultaneous search and seizure operations in Calinog, Iloilo, and Tapaz, Capiz.
He was among 16 individuals arrested and later charged in connection with the raids.
He also faces charges for violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and RA 9516 for illegal possession of explosives.
