BACOLOD City – “Walang dapat kinikilingan.”
This was stressed by Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, to the personnel of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), during his visit here yesterday.
Dongbo reminded the city police force to be apolitical and to be neutral on the ground in the May 2022 elections.
“Dapat nasa gitna tayo,” he said.
For the police to prepare for the elections, they must predict, plan, prevent, prepare, and perform professionally, he noted.
He said that scenarios were already given by the national headquarters to the local police to plan out for the elections.
“You should abide with the plan of your city director,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dongbo said the national headquarters ordered the reassignment of police if they have relatives who are running for the elections in their current assignments.
Dongbo said they are still conducting inventory on the personnel.
“If there’s a need to transfer any of them based on the guidelines set by the national headquarters, then we will do it, probably before January 9,” he added.
Dongbo said there is no information yet on the reassignment of a new provincial police director in Negros Occidental.
Police Colonel Romy Palgue has been Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) for more than a year now.
Three names of police officials are currently touted to be assigned as the next Nocppo director.
Dongbo said that if there will be changes, the national headquarters will be the one to make the selection.
Dongbo served as BCPO director in 2016, and during his visit here, he observed the development on the infrastructures at the headquarters.
Dongbo also awarded some members of the BCPO in recognition of their accomplishments here.
