The island-province will present the Volleyball All-star Game in Guimaras at the Sibunag covered gym on Feb. 9, 2019.
Teams from Guimaras Stars and Guimaras Mango Country are expected to join the event. All players are selected from the Guimaras Volleyball Championship Season 3 Elite Edition.
According to Guimaras Sports Consultant Dr. Richard Gabayoyo, they conducted this event to highlight the skills of Guimarasnons in sports and as well as treat sports aficionados to entertaining ball games.
“The composition of the teams for the all-star game are the best players selected from the competing teams during the Guimaras Volleyball Championship Season 3 Elite Edition. We are happy that our sports initiatives are continuing to get support from the local government,” shared Gabayoyo.
The competition will be graced by Guimaras Governor Samuel Gumarin, Sibunag Mayor Luben Vilches, and Buenavista Vice Mayor Cecile Gumarin.
“We will award medals and trophies to the winners as well as award the medals to the Best Spiker, Best Setter, Best Libero, and Best Player. We are inviting everyone to witness this match and support the grassroots programs of our province,” Gabayoyo added.
