Vice mayor’s security aide shot dead

BACOLOD City – A security aide of a local government official in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental was gunned down by two unidentified men on a motorcycle at Bateria bridge in Barangay Poblacion Thursday night.

Killed was Belarmino Isolana, 56, a close-in security of Vice Mayor Ernesto Reyes.

A report from the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo), said that Isolana was walking few meters away from his house around 6:35 p.m., when the gunmen shot him in the head and body then fled.

Isolana was taken to Guihulngan District Hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police recovered from the scene four empty shells of .45 caliber.

According to Norppo, the victim was a drug surrenderer. He yielded to authorities on November 17, 2016.

Investigation is ongoing.
