UP Visayas to Launch Food Safety Manual for MSMEs

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) will officially launch the Participatory Food Safety Manual on May 23, 2025.
The manual is a landmark initiative developed through the collaborative efforts of the Food Safety Manual Project team.
Written in both English and Hiligaynon, the guide presents culturally relevant and practical food safety practices.
It is designed specifically for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippine food service sector, including street food vendors.

The manual aims to make food safety more understandable and applicable to local, everyday food operations.
This release comes nearly a year after its ceremonial soft launch in June 2024.
Following months of development and community input, the manual is now ready to promote safe, inclusive and sustainable food handling across Iloilo and the region. (SOTECH)
