BACOLOD CITY — Police are investigating the death of an unidentified man found inside a car parked in Barangay Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday.
Police Major Rhazl Jim Jocson, deputy chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said the victim was wearing red shorts, no upper garment, and was estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old.
Jocson said the vehicle owner discovered the victim’s decomposing body when he checked his car after receiving a replacement battery he had ordered.
The victim was found in the driver’s seat, but authorities could not immediately determine if he had sustained any injuries.
Jocson said they could not confirm foul play at this time, but all possible angles are being investigated.
He added that they are speculating the victim may have been trapped inside the vehicle.
The car had reportedly been left unattended for some time due to damage sustained during a recent typhoon.
Jocson said they are still trying to determine how the victim got into the vehicle and why he was unable to get out.
As of this writing, the victim remains unidentified.
