The United States government has announced approximately PHP 13.8 billion (USD 250 million) in new foreign assistance to strengthen the Philippine health sector.
The funding, unveiled on September 12, 2025, aims to improve disease detection, emergency response, and maternal and child health services across the country.
This latest commitment raises total recently announced U.S. foreign assistance to the Philippines to over PHP 17 billion (USD 313 million).
An earlier allocation of PHP 3 billion (USD 63 million) was pledged to support energy resilience, fight illegal fishing in the South China Sea, and promote private sector growth in the Luzon Economic Corridor.
The new health-focused aid will target Tuberculosis Control and Prevention, Global Health Security, and Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition.
It will also support initiatives in supply chain management, health data systems, and laboratory infrastructure development.
“This funding underscores the United States’ unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of the Filipino people and demonstrates our long-term partnership in addressing shared challenges,” said U.S. Ambassador MaryKay Carlson.
“Together, we are building a healthier, more resilient future,” Carlson added.
The U.S. Embassy’s Foreign Assistance Section will oversee the rollout of these programs in key priority areas.
The expanded assistance reflects the enduring partnership between the United States and the Philippines in advancing regional health security and prosperity.
