PSA Guimaras caps Nutrition Month with National ID outreach

GUIMARAS — As the country concluded its 52nd Nutrition Month celebration, the Philippine Statistics Authority Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office capped its monthlong observance with digital nutrition advocacy, community outreach, and mobile National ID services.

The activities reinforced the office’s commitment to promoting healthier communities while bringing essential government services closer to Guimarasnons.

Throughout July, PSA Guimaras sustained its Nutrition Month advocacy by publishing a series of social cards on its official Facebook page.

The digital information campaign featured the official Nutrition Month poster and streamer, as well as social cards promoting proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, and the nutritional benefits of locally produced crops, including mangoes, sweet potatoes, cassava, and leafy vegetables.

The 2026 celebration carried the theme “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!” to highlight the connection between nutrition, sustainable food systems, and environmental protection.

“Through these online information materials, PSA Guimaras expanded the reach of the Nutrition Month celebration beyond face-to-face activities while encouraging the public to adopt healthier food choices and support local agricultural products,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.

“The office also displayed the official 52nd Nutrition Month streamer at the Provincial Statistical Office to further promote the campaign among clients and stakeholders,” Losare added.

The monthlong celebration culminated on July 28, 2026, with an integrated community outreach activity at the Sinapsapan Child Development Center in Barangay Sinapsapan, Jordan, Guimaras.

“The activity combined a feeding program for young learners with the delivery of National ID mobile registration services, demonstrating how government programs can be integrated to better serve communities,” Losare said.

A total of 30 learners benefited from the feeding program, during which nutritious meals were served to promote healthy eating habits and reinforce the importance of proper nutrition during early childhood.

“At the same time, the PSA Guimaras National ID Team successfully processed 20 National ID transactions, consisting of 18 new registrations, one demographic information update, and one issuance of the National ID in Paper Form,” Losare said.

The integrated activity enabled residents and eligible children to conveniently access National ID services while participating in the Nutrition Month celebration.

The PSA conducts mobile registration activities to extend National ID services to communities, including those in remote areas.

The agency also allows registered individuals to request changes or corrections to demographic information such as their name, marital status, sex, birth details, address, and blood type.

Losare said integrating National ID services with community-based activities reflects PSA Guimaras’ continuing commitment to responsive and people-centered public service.

“PSA Guimaras remains committed to bringing government services closer to the people. By integrating National ID services with community initiatives such as the Nutrition Month celebration, we not only improve access to essential government programs but also strengthen public awareness on nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Through partnerships with our local communities, we continue to promote both inclusive service delivery and the well-being of Guimarasnons,” Losare said.

The monthlong celebration was made possible through the collective efforts of PSA Guimaras employees, the PSA Guimaras National ID Team, Barangay Sinapsapan officials, and the day care workers of the Sinapsapan Child Development Center.

Their collaboration supported the successful conduct of the nutrition advocacy activities and integrated community outreach.

By combining digital information dissemination, nutrition promotion, and frontline National ID services, PSA Guimaras demonstrated how government agencies can maximize community engagement while delivering accessible and responsive public services.

“The initiative underscores the agency’s commitment to supporting national health campaigns and ensuring that essential government services reach communities across the province,” Losare said.
