BACOLOD CITY – Police filed charges against two men who posed as members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and threatened a woman in a KTV bar at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Barangay Singcang-Airport on Monday.
The suspects, identified only as “Lemuel,” 32, of Silay City, Negros Occidental, and “Dekralphs,” 34, of Barangay Mansilingan, were charged with usurpation of authority.
Police Capt. Greeky Cayao, head of Police Station 8, said the two suspects were having a drinking session at the bar.
When a waiter asked them to settle their bill amounting to PHP3,500, the suspects allegedly resisted.
Lemuel reportedly threatened a female employee at gunpoint, while Dekralphs claimed they were CIDG personnel.
The bar’s manager called for police assistance, leading to their arrest.
Before police arrived, the suspects were allegedly mobbed by some customers irritated by their actions.
“They sustained minor injuries from scratches during the incident,” Cayao said.
Police recovered a pellet gun with a magazine, resembling a .45 caliber firearm, from one of the suspects.
Lemuel also faces charges of grave threat and illegal possession of a firearm in relation to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban.
Meanwhile, Dekralphs was released after his case was subjected to a preliminary investigation, according to Cayao.
Authorities are also verifying reports of a previous case involving Dekralphs.
