Iloilo barangays secure PHP 27.9 million for projects

Ten barangays across five Iloilo municipalities will undertake infrastructure and community development projects after receiving a combined PHP 27.945 million in financial assistance from the Iloilo provincial government.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. turned over the funding on July 24.

The assistance will support the construction and completion of public infrastructure, including a farm-to-market road, a bridge, a barangay road, and multipurpose facilities.

Part of the funding will also be used to acquire land for government buildings.

Four barangays in Lambunao received the largest combined allocation at PHP 13.823 million.

Barangay Buri received PHP 3.813 million to acquire a 1,271-square-meter lot for a multipurpose center and other government facilities.

Barangay Patag received PHP 3.510 million to purchase a 1,300-square-meter lot for the same purpose.

Barangay Poblacion Ilaya secured PHP 3.3 million to purchase a 1,100-square-meter lot for a multipurpose center and other government facilities.

Barangay Simsiman received PHP 3.2 million to acquire a 1,000-square-meter lot for a barangay development center and other government facilities.

Three barangays in Cabatuan shared PHP 8.95 million in funding.

Barangay Zone 1 received PHP 4.25 million for the construction of a multipurpose hall.

Barangay Inaca was granted PHP 2.6 million to complete the Haunch Bridge.

Barangay Manguna received PHP 2.1 million to improve its multipurpose center.

Barangay Daan Banwa in Estancia received PHP 3 million to concrete a farm-to-market road.

Barangay 6 in San Miguel was allotted PHP 1 million to reconcrete a portion of a barangay road.

Barangay Zone V Poblacion in Santa Barbara received PHP 1.172 million to improve its multipurpose hall.

The provincial government said the assistance is intended to support community infrastructure projects and provide barangays with facilities that improve public services and address local development needs.
