Two men killed in separate areas

BACOLOD City – Police are still ascertaining the motive behind the killing of two persons here and in Negros Occidental last Wednesday.

In Bacolod, a man was found lifeless in a grassy part of Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2 on Wednesday afternoon.

Captain Glenn Montaño, head of Police Station 2, identified the victim as Marlon Illustrisimo, 32, of Barangay Cubay, La Carlota City.

Montaño said the victim’s hands were hogtied and his mouth was wrapped with a piece of plastic when found by a resident in the area.

Montaño said the victim may have been dumped in the area after he was killed somewhere else, as there was no indication that the crime was committed in the area.

Montaño said the victim was believed to have been left there for several hours already before the discovery.

Montañoadded that the victim was identified by his parents, who went to the police station yesterday after they learned about the incident.

According to his parents, the victim left their house around 10 a.m. on September 12. He, however, did not tell them where he went.

“Daw naglain kuno ila bata sang nakasugod siya barkada sa alleged drug personality,” Montaño said, citing the victim’s parents’ statement.

Montaño said they are looking into something personal as a possible motive in the incident.

Meanwhile, in San Carlos City, a motorcycle mechanic was gunned down by an unidentified person at Sitio Talave, Barangay Punao.

Police identified the victim as Jonril Pancho, 39, of Barangay Buenavista, Calatrava town.

Major Ryan Villasario, deputy chief of San Carlos City Police Station, said Pancho was on his way home along with his cousin on board a motorcycle when they were waylaid past 9 p.m.

The suspect shot the victim and fled while his cousin was unharmed, according to Villasario.

Pancho suffered two gunshot wounds in the lower chin and was declared dead in a hospital, Villasario said.

Police recovered from the scene two fired cartridges of a .45 caliber firearm.

Villasario said they have no lead yet as to the identity of the perpetrator.
