Tszyu outclasses Spence Jr. for 3rd straight boxing win

Tim Tszyu was on a different level after handing Errol Spence Jr. a harsh reality check during their highly anticipated middleweight boxing showdown on July 26, 2026, at the Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Coming off a convincing win over Denis Nurja three months ago, Tszyu sustained his momentum against Spence Jr., who successfully made his boxing comeback after almost three years of ring inactivity.

Since losing to Terence Crawford, Spence Jr. had not been as sharp or dominant entering the bout, as Tszyu pulled off a surprising boxing masterclass in front of his Australian fans.

To break down Spence Jr.’s relentless pressure and aggression, Tszyu had to move away from his comfortable style, utilizing more ring movement and clever disengagements in the clinch.

Tszyu had an electric start after breaking Spence Jr.’s high guard as early as the opening round, landing a barrage of clean right hands backed by a right uppercut that sealed a 1–0 lead on the scorecards.

However, Spence Jr. showed flashes of his pound-for-pound king form in the third round as he pinned Tszyu against the ropes several times.

Instead of targeting Tszyu’s jaw, Spence Jr. attempted to wear him down by throwing body shots, but that move was to no avail as the hometown pug wisely turned his left shoulder and ducked under to avoid further damage.

Tszyu turned the fight into a one-sided affair when the sixth round kicked off after giving Spence Jr. a dose of his own medicine.

After finding success upstairs, Tszyu shifted tactics in the middle rounds and aimed for Spence Jr.’s body, which eventually caused him to slow down.

Tszyu delivered the early exclamation point in the ninth round as he sent a flurry of left jabs, capped by a slick one-two combination to the body.

Tired and shaky and appearing to be in survival mode, Spence Jr. desperately threw wild haymakers in hopes of a miracle knockout blow, but the composed Tszyu didn’t fall for the American’s trap.

Spence Jr. had a single efficient round in the 11th after emptying his gas tank for three straight minutes, but Tszyu closed out the show with a clinical 12th-round hitting exhibition to seal a unanimous decision win.

With the statement win, Tszyu improved his pro boxing record to 28 wins, 18 knockouts, and three losses, while Spence Jr. slid to 28 wins, 22 knockouts, and two losses.
