The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters dominated the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings, 108–99, to bag back-to-back wins in the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup on July 26, 2026, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Fresh off a nail-biting victory over the Phoenix Fuel Masters, the Elasto Painters picked up where they left off, scoring a wire-to-wire win over Ginebra to cap their import-laced conference week campaign on a high note.
Both teams traded efficient offensive execution in the first quarter as Rain or Shine leaned on its high-octane run-and-gun attack while the Gin Kings utilized their half-court sets to generate wide-open looks from downtown.
However, Rain or Shine found an opening midway through the second quarter, courtesy of import Aaron Fuller’s paint dominance and Adrian Nocum’s daredevil drives that swelled the Elasto Painters’ lead to double digits.
From that sequence, Rain or Shine never lost a step, consistently attacking Ginebra’s sloppy defense, which allowed Fuller, Nocum, Caelan Tiongson, and Jhonard Clarito to feast inside the shaded lane.
To make things worse, Rain or Shine’s 3-point shooting clicked when the Gin Kings attempted to come back behind the efforts of Riley Grisby and RJ Abarrientos.
All hell broke loose at the 3:37 mark of the third period when Rain or Shine extended its cushion to 16 points off back-to-back treys from Christian Villegas and Nocum.
Ginebra attempted to rekindle its never-say-die mantra after pulling to within nine points with only five minutes remaining in regulation, 101–92, off a 3-pointer from Ralph Cu.
Answering the call for Rain or Shine to restore order were Clarito and Fuller, who sparked the Elasto Painters’ 8–0 run off consecutive drives to the basket.
That momentum-stealing run proved to be the difference as the gassed-out Ginebra squad failed to convert baskets during the most crucial stretch of the fourth quarter.
Fuller was a man on a mission for Rain or Shine as the veteran reinforcement stuffed the stat sheet with 37 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.
Tiongson delivered 21 markers on five treys, while Nocum flaunted his passing arsenal with 13 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds.
Rain or Shine will aim for its third straight win on July 31, 2026, against the Magnolia Chicken Timplados, while Ginebra will attempt to rebound on the same date against the rolling Meralco Bolts.
