BACOLOD CITY — Tribu Sicablun Quatro secured its second championship title after emerging victorious in the 52nd Dinagsa Festival Street Dance Competition held Sunday in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
Representing Barangays Sicaba, Luna, and Zone 4, the group outperformed eight competing tribes and earned the top prize of PHP 200,000.
The tribe also dominated the minor award categories, winning Best in Costume, Best in Sound/Rhythm, Best in Performance, Best in Choreography, and Most Disciplined, receiving PHP 25,000 for each award.
Placing first runner-up was Tribu Tinambi Tres, representing Barangays Tinampaan, Mabini, and Zone 3, which took home PHP 150,000.
Tribu Tibanda, composed of performers from Barangays Tiglawigan, Banquerohan, and Daga, finished as second runner-up and received PHP 100,000.
Meanwhile, Tribu Bucad Burgos, representing Barangays Burgos and Caduhaan, placed third runner-up with PHP 75,000.
The city also recognized individuals whose artistry and technical skills elevated the competition.
Honored were Ronie Besana and Jason Pajunting as Best Choreographers, Brandy Duplian and Brand Paul Dupluan as Best Sound Composers, and Michael Balquin as Best Costume Designer, with each awardee receiving PHP 10,000.
Other participating tribes—Tribu Bonizon Uno Sais, Tribu Maraynon, Tribu Balaan Majeca, and Tribu Sewanara—received PHP 50,000 consolation prizes.
All eight tribes brought energy, passion, and cultural pride to the streets of Cadiz through powerful storytelling and synchronized performances.
Mayor Salvador Escalante lauded the vibrant presentations, saying the competition reflected the deep cultural pride and artistic excellence of the Cadizeños.
