AICHI, JAPAN — The Philippines showcased its destinations at Tourism Expo Japan (TEJ) from Sept. 25 to 28, 2025, at the Aichi Sky Expo, generating as much as PHP 349.9 million in sales leads through trade, business, and consumer engagements.
The delegation, led by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines in partnership with the Department of Tourism, included representatives from airlines, hotels, resorts, tour operators, and government agencies.
Delegates held business-to-business meetings on Sept. 25–26 and connected with travelers during consumer activities on Sept. 27–28.
Stakeholders also sponsored raffle prizes for visitors to the Philippine booth, offering accommodations, tours, and flights to top destinations.
To encourage travel, the booth featured attractions aligned with Japanese market interests in historical sites and natural wonders such as Intramuros, Boracay, Chocolate Hills, and Moalboal.
The Philippine Travel Talk Show featured Japanese content creators Bonnie the Star and Miyuu, who introduced Filipino cuisine and discussed their experiences in the Philippines.
Regular performances from the Lumad group offered a glimpse into the cultural expressions of local communities.
“The successful results from this year’s TEJ serve as solid proof of the Japanese market’s strong interest in visiting our country,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles.
“Our participation in TEJ gave the market an avenue to fully immerse themselves in our unique culture and to experience the genuine warmth of the Filipino people, encouraging them to visit and love the Philippines more,” she added.
TEJ 2025 was organized by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association, the Japan Association of Travel Agents, and the Japan National Tourism Organization, gathering exhibitors from across the globe and welcoming more than 127,000 trade professionals and visitors.
The Philippines joined over 82 participating countries and regions, further cementing its presence in Japan’s largest travel marketplace.
The country’s PHP 350 million in sales leads reflects steady growth and an evolving approach to tourism promotion that centers on inclusivity and meaningful partnerships.
