Tony Lascuña shares senior golf crown at Club Intramuros

MANILA – Veteran golfer Tony Lascuña added another seniors title to his growing collection, sharing top honors with Aging Gabo and Gil Aunzo in the Pilipinas Senior Pro Golf Tour Organization (PSPGTO) Charity Senior Golf Pro-Am tournament at Club Intramuros on Nov. 3, 2026.
Unlike his victory in the Pasay City Mayor Emi Cup at Villamor Golf Club last month, the 55-year-old Lascuña settled for a three-way tie in the 50-59 age division after the trio posted identical 39-point totals under the Stableford scoring system.
The result highlighted Lascuña’s continued competitiveness in senior golf, following a career that includes five Philippine Golf Tour Order of Merit titles.
Ronald Pactolerin narrowly missed joining the leaders, finishing one point behind with 38, while Sonny Almazan placed fifth with 37 points in the premier division of the one-day tournament.
The event was organized by the PSPGTO, headed by president and Philippine Golf Tour mainstay Mars Pucay, as part of its efforts to provide competitive opportunities for senior professional golfers.
The 60-69 age division also produced a tie at the top, with Roger Linde and former Philippine Open champion Mario Manubay sharing the title after matching 37-point performances.
Leonardo Estrera finished third with 35 points, followed by multiple Masters winner and former Philippine Open champion Robert Pactolerin with 34.
Doming Umadhay rounded out the division’s top five with 33 points.
In the pro-am competition, Orlan Sumcad and Jun Marasigan combined for 90 points to capture the championship.
The pair narrowly defeated Alden Bait and Boggie Pascual, who finished just one point behind with 89.
Gerome Malaga and Lin Pan secured third place with 87 points.
Danny Fortusa, meanwhile, topped the 70-and-above category with 33 points.
Beloy Tiamzon finished second with 31 points, while Mario Ramones placed third with 29.
The amateur divisions also delivered strong performances, led by James Cruz, who dominated Class A with 55 points.
Mitsuharo Kitaura claimed runner-up honors with 43 points, edging Allan Maligaya through a countback tiebreaker.
In Class B, Pan emerged victorious with 54 points, narrowly defeating Pascual, who finished with 53.
Pascual secured second place through a countback over Marasigan, who also posted 53 points.
Rizza Kiongson highlighted the women’s amateur division with a commanding 49-point performance to claim the championship.
Jazziel Lorenzo finished second with 42 points, while Teresa Lasala took third with 38.
The closely contested results across the professional and amateur divisions underscored the competitive field assembled for the charity tournament.
For Lascuña, the shared championship provided another addition to his senior golf record, reinforcing his standing among the country’s accomplished veteran players.
