PVL: Nxled remains unbeaten, adds to Capital1’s woes
By Leobert Julian A. de la Peña

The Nxled Chameleons’ undefeated streak continued after they handed the Capital1 Solar Spikers their third straight loss, 25-13, 25-20, 25-18, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference Siklab Series on Nov. 7, 2026, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
With the emphatic sweep, the Chameleons grabbed the solo lead in the Siklab Series, becoming the only unbeaten team while improving to 5-0.
Fresh off a grueling four-set victory over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, Nxled showed no signs of slowing down as the Chameleons hammered the struggling Solar Spikers, who have yet to regain their footing since their five-set escape against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles on Oct. 20.
Flawless execution on both ends of the court immediately caught Capital1 off guard as the trio of Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips and Jackie Acuña led Nxled to a commanding 22-12 advantage in the first set.
Van Sickle spearheaded Nxled’s unstoppable offense, while Phillips and Acuña shut down Capital1’s Bella Belen and Erika Santos with their well-timed blocking.
With the opening set nearly secured, Phillips delivered two of Nxled’s final three points with a block on Belen and a crafty offensive tap off a loose ball.
The Solar Spikers attempted to fight back by varying their offensive sets in the ensuing frame, involving Vanie Gandler and Santos more often as Belen was tightly guarded from the back row.
That adjustment paid off momentarily before EJ Laure-Cariño and Jov Fernandez restored order for Nxled with crucial conversions for a 23-17 cushion.
Capital1 managed to dig deep and apply pressure with a 3-1 run, but Van Sickle played spoiler, catching the Solar Spikers off guard with a set-sealing left-handed drop shot.
It was then all Nxled as the league-leading squad wrapped up the contest with a wire-to-wire third-set victory, preventing Capital1 from gaining any momentum through its signature defensive performance.
Van Sickle top-scored for Nxled for the second straight game, contributing 13 points on 11 successful attacks, alongside four excellent receptions and a block.
Phillips remained consistent with nine points, including three blocks, while Acuña and Jonah Sabete-Escamillan chipped in seven points apiece.
The Chameleons will gun for their sixth straight PVL win against the Akari Chargers on Nov. 12, while Capital1 seeks to end its losing streak against the Farm Fresh Foxies on Nov. 14.
