One of the most exciting Filipino-American basketball players will finally enter the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Jeremiah Gray, the former TNT Tropang Giga 3×3 superstar and Mighty Sports PH’s high-leaping swingman already passed his application for the incoming 2022 PBA Rookie Draft.
Poised to be a top-five pick by several PBA analysts, Gray already showed what he can do after dazzling during his stint with TNT in the 3×3 scene.
Gray was quick to turn heads and led the storied franchise to a PBA 3×3 leg championship title together with scoring champion Almond Vosotros, Lervin Flores, and former Iloilo United Royals swingman Samboy de Leon.
Unfortunately, Gray had to part ways with TNT after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee during the first conference of the PBA 3×3.
Gray immediately flew back home to the United States to get his treatment and is currently finishing up his last sessions of his rehabilitation to go back to the Philippines.
The six-foot-five hooper was supposed to join last year’s Rookie Draft but the PBA’s stricter rules regarding Fil-Am applicants barred him from his application.
Gray had the luxury to re-apply this year after PBA commissioner Willie Marcial announced that they relaxed the rules for the Fil-Am applicants and is hoping to get selected and suit up this year.
If Gray’s draft application will get approved, he will be joining a bunch of Fil-Ams in the pool including former NBA G League player Sedrick Barefield who is also poised to be this year’s top pick.
