The municipality of Tigbauan notched their second straight win after nipping Mina, Pototan, 76-71, in the 1st Mayor Amboy Cup 2019, inter-town open basketball tournament.
Tigbauan controlled the pace of the ball game by capitalizing on their advantage underneath, pounding it hard inside the paint for easy scores.
Every time the Tigbaunaons would make a run, Mina would then climb back through their easy corner jumpers and drop passes underneath.
Despite Mina’s resiliency and scrappiness to get to loose balls, the cohesion and chemistry that Tigbauan displayed gave them the edge against the opponents, creating scoring runs and piling up their largest lead at 13.
Peter Traviña’s threes started to connect for Tigbauan that provided the extra cushion, adding up solid games from Demy Jess Gelvezon, Happie Talimay, and Amer Emboltura.
The next game for Tigbauan will be on December 6, 2019, against Pototan.
