Thousands served in Kapamilya Love Weekend

CLOSE to a thousand Bacoleños and Negrenses were served in various public service activities rendered by ABS-CBN and its partners  at the Sum-ag National High School in Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City, last September 7.

500 adults and children availed of free medical check-up and were given medicines, while there were 72 patients who had their tooth extracted.

Salvacion Balero, one of the beneficiaries said she is thankful for the free medical check-up and medicines.  She said it was timely as she is suffering from a limp.

Kapamilya Stars Ejay Falcon and Cholo Barreto joined the soup kitchen and distribution of medicines.

“Kung iisipin mo ang sarap tumulong, yun nga yung network namin ang ABS-CBN  talagang pinadala kami dito para tumulong, nakikita naman namin na lahat ng tao nakikiisa at sinusuportahan ang ganitong programa para magamot lahat ng mga may karamdaman”, Barreto said.

Falcon is thankful for the response of the community.

“Nagpapasalamat naman ako siyempre sa ABS-CBN  at sa ating mga kapamilya na binigyan nila ng oras ang mga tao dito sa bacolod”, Falcon said.

150 job applicants joined the  Trabaho Patrol in partnership with the Philippine Call Center Institute.

ABS-CBN Bacolod Station Manager Clifford Nolido said the Kapamilya Network is celebrating its 65 years of being in the service to the Filipino and the Kapamilya Love Weekend is one way of giving back to the community.

“It is one of our ways to give back to the community especially sa mga Kapamilya natin na naging loyal sa atin for the past 65 years,” Nolido said.

The beneficiaries were also entertained and won prizes through the  Barangayan led by the MOR DJs.

85 kids and  100 adults had free hair cut and massage respectively  from the 79th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.

ABS-CBN is also thankful  for the volunteer doctors, dentists and caregivers  coming the  City Health Office, Provincial Health Office, Negros Women for Tomorrow, University of St. La Salle – College of Medicine and  Philippine Red Cross.
