After missing the first games of the San-en NeoPhoenix in the Japanese B.League, Thirdy Ravena – the first Asian import to set foot in the league, will be leaving the Philippines today to reinforce the squad.
The 23-year-old basketball star already completed his swab-test at the Makati Medical Center and immediately packed his bags and confirmed that he will be nearing his San-en debut in a couple of weeks.
As soon as Ravena arrives in Japan, he will again be tested and will have to undergo quarantine for several days as part of the Japanese government safety protocols.
TnT Tropang Giga’s head coach, Bong Ravena, Thirdy’s dad, also confirmed his son’s departure and said that he is already preparing for his flight.
Last time, Thirdy faced issues regarding his Japanese visa and other documents required by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), the reason for his B.League delay.
Thirdy is laser-focused heading to Japan to help secure the club’s first win of the season after NeoPhoenix registered a poor start in the league.
