One of the most effective 3×3 players in the country is finally back.
10 years since being hailed as FIBA’s 3×3 Most Spectacular Player, Terrence Romeo returns to the scene where he captivated not only Filipino fans but also millions of international spectators.
Romeo’s homecoming came after Manila Melmac signed him to play for the FIBA 3×3 Manila Challenger on Sept. 20, 2025, at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque.
“Asahan ng fans na ibibigay ko iyong best ko,” Romeo said.
“Gagawin ko iyong best ko para makatulong sa team and hopefully, makuha namin iyong goal namin.”
The last time that the 3×3 fans witnessed Romeo lace his shoes in the half-court was in 2015, when he reinforced the Manila West team in the FIBA World Tour.
It is also through that stint that Romeo gained a huge international following, after his FIBA mixtape highlight video garnered a total of 266,340 views, surpassing that of former 3×3 No. 1 player Dusan Domovic Bulut.
Tagged as the “Golden Boy” when he wowed the crowd with dyed hair, Romeo brought a different flavor to the PHL’s 3×3 play style when he dominated with his signature crossovers and in-and-out isolation moves.
However, Romeo’s 3×3 campaign would abruptly end when he returned to his mother franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
Romeo won multiple PBA championship titles with the San Miguel Beermen before the SMC-backed team traded him to the Terrafirma Dyip.
Now, the moment came full circle as Romeo went back to his roots and is set for an expected fruitful 3×3 campaign with the Manila Melmac.
Romeo will be teaming up with Mac Tallo, the country’s former No. 1 3×3 player, as well as Abdul Sawat and Henry Iloka, the team’s 1-2 frontcourt punch.
