The road to the coveted Miss Guimaras 2025 crown officially began on Saturday, April 26, as ten candidates were formally introduced during a media presentation at the Guimaras Mountain Resort in Piña-Daragan, Buenavista.
The event marked the start of their journey towards the coronation night on May 23 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Jordan, coinciding with the Manggahan Festival, which runs from May 16 to 25.
Governor JC Rahman A. Nava and Congresswoman Ma. Lucille L. Nava graced the presentation, expressing pride in the candidates and emphasizing advocacy for empowerment and community-driven initiatives.
Each candidate represents one of the province’s five municipalities: Buenavista, Jordan, Nueva Valencia, San Lorenzo, and Sibunag.
The candidates are Kristen Marie Bosque and Shiela Muya for Buenavista; Mary Cathyrine Platon and Marcine Balinas for Jordan; Renelyn Gellego and Anne Leslie Tacda for Nueva Valencia; Zestah Shalom Espinosa and Princess Anne Magbanua for San Lorenzo; and Deserie Magan and Daicel Joy Asgar for Sibunag.
The candidates will participate in pre-pageant activities, including tourism campaigns and advocacy training, leading up to the coronation night.
Governor Nava highlighted the province’s goal to achieve national representation through the pageant.
“We always want to have a representation in any national pageant. If anyone qualifies from the ten candidates we have here, we will be very much honored to send them to represent whatever major pageant we can participate in. We will support them,” Nava said.
Themed “Beauty Beyond the Island,” Miss Guimaras 2025 will showcase the diversity, beauty, and strength of the province’s women.
The pageant aims to highlight not only physical beauty but also the candidates’ resilience, intelligence, and commitment to important social causes.
