Tapaz government worker wanted for homicide arrested

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police arrested a casual employee of the Tapaz municipal government Wednesday morning, July 29, on a homicide charge.
Tapaz police served an arrest warrant against the 32-year-old suspect, identified only as alias Toto, at a relative’s house in Barangay Roxas, Tapaz, Capiz.
The suspect is a resident of Barangay Santo Niño in Dumalag but was temporarily staying at Sitio Arisgal in Barangay Cristina, Tapaz.
Regional Trial Court Branch 21 Judge Rommel Leonor in Mambusao, Capiz, issued the arrest warrant on July 27, 2026.
The court set bail at PHP 60,000 for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
Maj. Gregg Anthony Salbang, Tapaz police chief, said police would continue their campaign against people accused of committing crimes.
Salbang said police would pursue suspects who evade arrest to help secure justice for victims.
The suspect remained in the custody of the Tapaz Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
