After a grueling best of three series with the Bagonbon National High School, the Tañon College squad swept them and showed their dominance after an 89-52 Game 2 victory to take the national qualifier spot at Ibajay Aklan this 2020.
Although the win was lopsided, the young hoopers from the BNHS showed that they are one of San Carlos’ finest basketball teams and will bounce back harder next NBTC season.
During game 1, Tañon College did not waste any time as they immediately pressed BNHS in the opening frame up to the second period that gave them the much needed advantage.
With the large lead, Tañon was able to focus on their half-court sets the second half and shifted their attack inside the paint.
BNHS wasn’t able to look for answers against Tañon’s variety of sets up until the second game, giving up two games by way of blowout.
The NBTC-San Carlos’ best player of the finals was John Paul Caballero of Tañon, who came up big both defensively and offensively.
