TALISAY CITY, Negros Occidental — Mayor Atty. Rowena “Weng” Lopez Lizares said the city government and the Lopez family will formally sign an agreement next year for the donation of land where a city hospital will be built.
The Lopez family has committed to donate a 1-hectare lot for the project, which Lizares described as a major step in improving access to health care for Talisaynons.
The mayor said the planned hospital is intended to ease the burden on residents who travel to neighboring cities for treatment, particularly for emergency and specialized care.
The facility is expected to strengthen the city’s health care system and serve as a long-term public health investment, especially for indigent and underserved communities.
The hospital project is among the major initiatives the city plans to roll out next year, Lizares said during her message at the 33rd founding anniversary of Partido Kusog Talisaynon, attended by about 8,000 party leaders at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University gym.
She also announced that vendors will be transferred to the new public market next year as part of what she described as major developments for the city.
Lizares said several projects have already moved forward, including the turnover of new classrooms and the opening of a Super Health Center behind City Hall.
She said another Super Health Center will be built in Barangay Dos Hermanas on land donated by First Farmers.
To strengthen peace and order, Lizares said additional police officers and investigators will be deployed to police substations in the city.
Lizares thanked Partido Kusog Talisaynon leaders, saying the party’s continued strength is rooted in their dedication and support.
